Frequently asked questions

  • Select the ‘Log in to bid’ button on one of the lot pages, or the Sign in/Register link in the footer.
  • Enter your name, email address and phone number, then select submit.

Please note, if you sign up for updates about the auction, you will not be registered to bid. You will still need to follow the steps above if you want to bid on a lot.

You will be able to register to bid when the auction opens on 9th June at 2pm BST.

Once you have registered and logged in, you will be able to place a bid by entering a quantity which matches or exceeds the minimum bid amount on the page of the lot you want to bid on.

If you are the highest bidder, you will see a ‘You are the highest bidder’ message displayed on the page and receive an email confirmation of your bid.

If your bid is accepted, but you have been outbid, you will see a ‘You have been outbid’ message on the page. You will also receive an email.

If you are the highest bidder, you will be able to place a maximum bid by entering an amount which exceeds your current winning bid and selecting ‘place maximum bid’.

When you place a maximum bid, we’ll bid on your behalf - enough to keep you in the lead, but only up to your limit.

If someone outbids you, we'll let you know so you can decide if you want to bid again.

If you are outbid immediately after placing a bid, it's likely another bidder has placed a maximum bid which is higher than yours. You'll need to bid again in order to be the highest bidder and have a chance to enter a new maximum bid.

If someone else enters the same maximum bid, the bid which was entered first will have priority.

When someone else places a bid, which is lower than the maximum bid, we'll place a slightly higher bid on your behalf.

You’ll receive an email confirmation and be telephoned by the team from HEWI (hardlyeverwornit.com) to organise payment and delivery. Please make sure you enter the correct email address and telephone number when you register.

No. As set out in the terms and conditions, any bid you submit is final and binding.
